You, Too, Can Help
Preserve the Bahamas
We, as the owners of the luxury sailboat, Kittiwake, are grateful for the chance to sail in the beautiful waters of the Bahamas. Having visited different parts of the archipelago during several recent trips, we are reminded that the ecosystem is very fragile and that the people and animals who inhabit it are under stress. Climate change causes warmer waters that threaten the precious coral reefs. And the stronger hurricanes that result from global warming pose a serious threat to the people who live on the islands, as demonstrated by the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Dorian.
We believe in responsible tourism and want to ensure that it will always be possible to have pleasurable sailing experiences in a beautiful, healthy environment. Therefore, we have decided to give 10% of our profits to support several projects that are designed to help protect the Bahamas and its residents, including both people and animals. All of the projects we’ve chosen have been vetted by GlobalGiving.
We hope that people who charter the Kittiwake will consider supporting these projects, too. Click the links below to access the project pages on GlobalGiving’s website, where you can learn more about each effort and make a secure, online donation. Please join us in preserving Bahamian marine life and saving Bahamian sea turtles in the Bahamas!
Sincerely,
Leigh and Mark
